Spiritual tools aren’t necessary for living a spiritual life, but they can help provide focused guidance along your journey. That said, the opposite can be true too: if you’re driven by ego or fear and feel like you need to do everything, have everything, and learn everything, you may end up jumping from one spiritual trend to another with no real consistency, leaving you with no tools that truly resonate with you.
You might be drawn to certain spiritual tools because of your upbringing, connections to your ancestry, a past life connection, or simply because you feel called to them. Whatever the reason, using spiritual tools is a personal choice. It’s about doing what feels right for you, not what you think you should do to be considered a “successful” spiritual person.
I’d like to share with you some of my favorite spiritual tools and also mention a few that I avoid.
The tools I use are filled with light and love, and they resonate at a high frequency. They’re never used in a fear-based way. My tools are for me and my practice, and I don’t use them to control others—something you’ll find with many tools in the esoteric world, unfortunately.
First off, I want to make it clear: I don’t practice spellcasting. I don’t use elementals or voodoo to manipulate others or try to control outcomes. That kind of practice is rooted in darkness, and while I believe in manifesting intentions, trying to control outcomes is a sign of ego and a lack of trust in the Universe. It might seem to work at times, but there are often karmic consequences—usually regret and the “be careful what you wish for” kind.
I don’t welcome voodoo, hoodoo, or calling on dark entities for help with manifestation or protection into my home. Just writing that made me feel the need to clear my space with blessing spray! I also avoid shows that feature incantations to Satan—because, believe me, that dark energy is real, and I don’t find any of it entertaining.
Now, let’s dive into the tools I actually love…
CRYSTALS
Crystals are at the top of my list because they’re like ancient technology. They were used as power sources and healing tools in places like Atlantis and Lemuria. The energy and vibrations from these beautiful stones are undeniable, and they can really support every part of your spiritual journey. I use crystals for meditation and healing work, and I also keep them around my house to energize my space.
Just remember, crystals need to be recharged or cleared from time to time. You can do this by placing them near Quartz or Amethyst, using sage or smoke, setting them in salt, or burning palo santo. Be cautious with water, though, as some crystals can break down if they come into contact with it!
ORACLE CARDS
I really love oracle cards. Even though I’ve been reading Tarot for over 24 years, I actually prefer oracle cards. So, what’s the difference? Well, oracle cards are unique because their meaning is shaped by the artist and writer behind the deck. They usually focus on a specific theme or need, like moon phases, manifestation, or past life healing. They can be any size, shape, or style of art, and they offer guidance, reflection, or insights related to that theme.
I always find myself journaling about the cards I pull, but I also enjoy just flipping through the decks and soaking in the love and light they bring. Right now, my favorite decks are my latest ones: the Crystal Sound Healing Oracle and the Starcodes Astro Oracle.
TAROT DECKS
That being said, I do have a special place in my heart for Tarot! Tarot consists of 78 cards, and the structure is pretty standard across all decks: 22 Major Arcana cards that represent big events and life experiences, and 56 Minor Arcana cards that help you dive deeper into those experiences and the karmic lessons they bring.
Tarot cards aren’t dark unless you use them with dark intentions, and they don’t predict the future. They’re really there to guide you toward the best spiritual path for your personal growth and learning.
I even designed my own Tarot deck called the Rider Waite Renewed deck (though it’s sold out now; you can still find it through resellers on sites like Facebook Marketplace or Etsy), and it’s my go-to for reading for others. As for personal readings, my favorite deck changes depending on my mood.
INCENSE, SAGE, and PALO SANTO
I use these tools to cleanse my space, myself (and my family), my decks, and my crystals. Honestly, they can be used to clear just about anything! Smoke is a powerful way to remove negative or stuck energy. Whenever I light a stick of incense, I do it with a purpose — like saying, “May today be a joyful day,” “May this bring abundance,” or “May this clear any stagnant energy in my space.” Plus, the smell is a nice bonus! Find a scent that resonates with you. Right now, my favorite is Patchouli Forest, which makes my house smell like an esoteric shop!
FLOWER ESSENCES AND ESSENTIAL OILS
Flower essences and essential oils are both plant-based, but they’re quite different in how they’re made and used, so I’ve grouped them together.
Flower essences are created by infusing flowers in water, capturing their energy. They focus on emotional and spiritual healing, helping to shift your vibration and promote balance. You take flower essences by ingesting them.
Essential oils, on the other hand, are concentrated plant extracts that are distilled. They’re used in aromatherapy for physical and emotional benefits, affecting both mood and well-being. I personally use them in diffusers, though some people apply them topically (but don’t ingest them!).
Flower essences are incredibly powerful and ancient tools, while essential oils are beautiful allies for spiritual living. If I had to choose one, I’d definitely recommend flower essences — they can immediately shift your energy. In spiritual practices, flower essences are great for enhancing meditation, balancing chakras, or clearing emotional blocks. They work on a subtle level to support spiritual growth and healing. Essential oils, on the other hand, are often used in diffusers, topically, or in rituals to clear spaces, uplift energy, or connect with spirit guides. Both are natural tools that support emotional and spiritual alignment.
One key thing to note: flower essences are safe to use during pregnancy, but essential oils should be avoided topically during pregnancy.
PENDULUMS
A pendulum is a helpful tool for dowsing or divination, guiding you through yes/no questions or energy readings. It’s great for boosting intuition and offering direct access to your inner guidance. Using a pendulum can help you make decisions, gain insights, and read energy fields, which increases self-awareness, alignment, and trust in your spiritual path.
I’ve recently started using it with clients in Soul Alignment Sessions, where it helps identify blocked or overactive chakras. In France, pendulums are very popular, and there are books filled with pendulum boards that can help with everything from checking your energy alignment to deciding which flower essence to take or even what foods to stop eating.
One important note: pendulums should not be used by children.
SINGING BOWLS
In my dream future, I picture having a big, beautiful crystal singing bowl. For now, I have a few small Tibetan ones, but they’re still amazing! Singing bowls are great for sound healing. They create vibrations that help clear energy, support meditation, and balance chakras.

JOURNALS AND BOOKS
Journals and books are great tools for your spiritual growth and understanding. They let you tap into the wisdom of others and help you dive deep within yourself to uncover greater truths about the spiritual world. Books and journals will always be a key part of my spiritual toolkit.
Ultimately, the tools you choose for your spiritual practice are personal and unique to your journey. There’s no right or wrong, just what resonates with your spirit and supports your growth. Your intuition is your most powerful tool—it will guide you toward what feels aligned. Whether you use crystals, cards, flower essences, or any other tool, what matters most is your intention behind using them. Any tool can become negative if it’s used with fear or guided by your Ego. Honor your path, choose what brings light, and listen to what tool calls to you.
